THE PURSUIT OF THE UNCOMFORTABLE AND UNFAMILIAR
The development of my personal brand teeters on a central tension: how do I optimize my professional practice, yet create the space needed for my artistic practice?
I'm multidisciplinary. I'm a brand strategist and creative director, a photographer and designer, a writer, and a community leader. The challenge was not finding a way to place all those disciplines on a website. It was identifying the philosophical throughline that allowed me to communicate something cohesive as I shared the different parts of myself.
The risk is that without that structure, breadth could easily become fragmentation.
[ THE STRATEGY ]
DESIGNING ONE SYSTEM FOR A MULTIDISCIPLINARY PRACTICE
My brand is designed to support two connected but distinct modes of work: a client-facing brand development practice and an evolving creative archive. Alluding to my love for the concept of third spaces, I've divided my practices into three spaces: The Studio for my professional practice, The Gallery for my artistic practice, and The Library for my written works.
This distinction allows me to differentiate my areas of work by changing the room the audience interacts with, not the person they interact with. Thus, I can maintain my philosophy, my personality, my voice, and my character across all touchpoints.
[ THE OUTCOME ]
A LIVING, EVOLVING PLATFORM
The result is this evolving brand ecosystem that makes the commercial practice easier to understand without reducing the broader creative work to a collection of unrelated side projects.
The system now functions simultaneously as portfolio, professional platform, creative archive, and expression of the methodology behind my practice: finding coherence across different forms of thinking and making.
